Although WebAssembly was originally designed to enable high-performance applications in web browsers, it's started to gain traction in other contexts, such as multi-tenant cloud computing, database stored procedures, IoT, and more. In this presentation, we'll look at the current state of WebAssembly, as well as a few of the major upcoming features on the horizon. After that, we'll walk through creating and deploying a simple, serverless web app with Wasm components running both in the cloud and in the browser.
This talk will be presented by Joel Dice, a senior software engineer based out of Denver, Colorado. Joel is currently a Principal Software Engineer at Freymon Technologies, built to deploy and manage serverless functions and microservices with WebAssembly. Joel was previously the head of R&D at ReadyTalk where he led the development of video conferencing solutions that interoperated with both Flash and WebRTC
